Wedding dress status

blog, københavn, high-streetI can’t thank you enough for all your sweet comments and interest in my wedding dress. Without a doubt, I have the best readers in the world. I am deeply touched by your support and all your crossed fingers. ;) Now I can finally tell and show you about the status of the wedding dress. I’m sorry the video is in Danish – I will just give you a brief summery… I finally received the dress this morning and it is beyond beautiful! I couldn’t have asked for more and I am SO relieved, happy and grateful right now! I can’t wait to wear it next Saturday… But it was a bit too long, so we went to a tailor this afternoon who are correcting it. I will receive it on Thursday – just two days before the wedding. :) Just wanted to give you an update. I’m looking very much forward to show it to you guys.

Godmorgen allesammen. <3

blog, københavn, high-streetGood morning everyone. We took these pics last night when we went to a local park to have dinner. The light was simply amazing, so we had to take advantage of it and take some photos. ;) I love this time of the day where the light is soft and golden. Among photographers it is called “the golden hour” and it’s the perfect time to take pictures again the sunlight. I hope that you will all have an amazing day. I didn’t sleep much last night as I am so excited if I will receive the wedding dress today. <3

Wedding dress update & sneak peek

brudekjole, mønster til kjole, kjolemønster, bridal gown, wedding dress
^A SNEAK PEEK OF THE WEDDING DRESS PATTERN WHICH I FITTED & CORRECTED^

We only copy“.

Kryds fingre for mig! <3

blog, københavn, high-streetSeveral of you have been asking about the status of my wedding dress. It’s no secret that it has been a really frustrating process. Just to give you a brief summary… I sent the drawings and measurements to my supplier in India before we went on holiday in Bali, but suddenly she was going on vacation for a month and told me that she did not have time to make it unless I got the pattern made myself. I got so stressed when I got the message in Bali and we went straight to 6-7 tailors. Unfortunately, most of them could not make a pattern from scratch, but after 3 days, we finally found one. She who took my measurements and sent the pattern to Denmark. Before I received the pattern, I had a lot of speculations, because what if it never showed up? What if it didn’t fit me at all? I didn’t know the tailor in Bali, so I didn’t know wheter I could trust her.

In the meantime, my supplier in India would buy the fabric and beading for the dress, but obviously she couldn’t buy it, before she received my payment. The problem was that the payment would not go through. It usually takes max. 3-4 days to transfer money to a foreign account of this type, but nothing happened and I started to panic. I could not even call the bank, as they did not speak English. After a week the money finally went through and my supplier received the pattern. Phew. First milestones was reached!

My supplier started making the dress, but suddenly her employees took 5 days off since they are muslims and should celebrate Eid. My supplier began to seem nervous about whether the dress could be ready in time and I must admit that I broke down in tears that day. I wrote back and forth with my supplier to find a solution and it ended up that she had four tailors working full time on the dress for two weeks. The entire dress is filled with beads, stones and sequins and everything is made by hand, so it has taken more than 400 hours of work to make. She was so sweet and helpful, although it demanded that she worked in her holiday and did not get much sleep. I am forever grateful. <3

And you know what … I’m sitting with a lump in my throat as I type this, because now there is light at the end of the tunnel … – The day before yesterday she sent me pictures of the DRESS!!! It’s finally DONE! I could hardly believe my eyes. It looks simply beautiful and I can not wait to see it in reality. But I can not completely relax yet, since the parcels often get stuck in customs and it can take days, sometimes even weeks before they are being released. We have almost reached the finish line, so I really hope that there won’t be any problems. If so, I will receive it tomorrow morning before 9AM! I am beyond excited!!! Please cross your fingers for me! <3
